These guys are amazing! They tracked down multiple shorts in my wife's Hyundai... all the little things that had been faulty got fixed. This family owned and operated small business really goes above and beyond.

So the DMV required a STAR certified smog station and after a scam experience at Clairemont Auto Care I ended up at Speedy on a Saturday afternoon. Boy they ARE fast! Not only that they understood that a lit up check-vehicle-light is not a check-engine-light and has nothing to do with smog. When I asked them to top off some freon in my A/C they did that for free! I was out of there in 15 minutes. This is a family business, father and son were extremely nice and fun to talk to. The father let me know that I should go and have my transmission flushed "by my house mechanic" and presented the evidence as well. Also, he showed me the spot where my freon sneaks out of the A/C. That's how business should be conducted. See you next time!

We stopped to get our tire plugged while getting an oil change. The guys were super nice and assisted us in less time than the oil change at the nearby jiffy lube.

07/22/2015 Saad/Sam/Danny are absolutely wonderful!!! They handled my SUV problem quickly / honestly / and went an extra mile to make sure and diagnose the problem properly and check for the cause of my air conditioning failing x2 after paying for it each time at another repair shop, for it to only break down again causing my SUV to become immobile at all. Their prices are excellent, they explained everything they did and showed my brother and myself the parts needed and installed them, so I can drive safely on the road. Due too health issues my Air Conditioning is a necessity, also I did not realize under the hood of my GMC Envoy SUV, that one belt effect's the entire function of my SUV. As a women I recommend Speedy Auto Repair & Smog check to anyone 100%!!!!!

I've used these guys for an oil change, a headlight fix, a catalytic converter and smog check, and a couple other miscellaneous repairs and they have been solid so far. They always get me a good price, and have gotten repairs done same day each time, sometimes within a couple of hours. They are friendly, informative, and always show me in detail what they are talking about doing. Customer service is good, especially for a mechanic. Family owned business and they work well together. Danny is very helpful. Has been cheap so far and good service, so I can't complain and I would definitely recommend.

The guys at Speedy Auto Repair & Smog have now worked on my VW Jetta a total of 3 times. Every time I bring it in, they are done the same day, and they save me a lot of money. Danny always gets me great deals on parts, and as I've said before, they are quick about it. The customer service is great, the mechanics always take me in to take a look at what they are talking about doing, they are prompt and all of them are friendly. I was VERY WARY of this shop at first. It is difficult to find an honest shop that is quick and painless. Even for my most recent work (a catalytic converter), I shopped around before coming back to them to get it done. Car maintenance is expensive no matter how you look at it, but I've come to trust these guys to not oversell me, and get the work done properly and efficiently. I'd recommend this shop to friends and family, for sure.

I've been putting off my smog check, but registration is due next weekend, so I finally decided to get it done. This place is one of the few around that's open on Sundays, so they got my business. Wound up being a waste of 60 bucks. There were some positive things about my visit. I didn't have to wait long, and the guy I spoke with was very likeable and explained everything. Unfortunately, what he didn't explain was that my check engine light might result in my car automatically failing the smog check. I understand that not all OBD errors will cause the car to fail, and they can't know what the fault is until they test it. But, the proper thing to do is explain the possibility, and give me the opportunity to get the car fixed before they check it. Instead, I paid sixty bucks for them to tell me to take my car to the mechanic. Pro-tip: there's a little light on my dashboard that tells me that for free. The cost for their diagnostic alone, before they actually fix the problem, is $120. So, even if they hadn't proven themselves to be exploitative and dishonorable, their repair costs would be over priced. Needless to say, I'm going to my regular mechanic tomorrow to get everything fixed for a fair price, then going to a smog station I can trust not to screw me. And Speedy isn't getting another penny from me.
